Modifies the following registry keys:
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon] 'Shell' = 'Explorer.exe csrcs.exe'
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Explorer\Run] 'csrcs' = '<SYSTEM32>\csrcs.exe'
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices] 'csrcs' = '<SYSTEM32>\csrcs.exe'
Malicious functions:
To complicate detection of its presence in the operating system,
forces the system hide from view:
- hidden files
Creates and executes the following:
- '<SYSTEM32>\csrcs.exe'
Executes the following:
- '<SYSTEM32>\wbem\wmiadap.exe' /R /T
Modifies file system :
Creates the following files:
- <SYSTEM32>\autorun.in
- %TEMP%\tmqdvkj
- %TEMP%\~ip.tmp
- <SYSTEM32>\autorun.i
- %TEMP%\khntlks
- %TEMP%\aut1.tmp
- %TEMP%\aut2.tmp
- <SYSTEM32>\csrcs.exe
Sets the 'hidden' attribute to the following files:
- <SYSTEM32>\autorun.i
- <SYSTEM32>\autorun.in
- <SYSTEM32>\csrcs.exe
Deletes the following files:
- %HOMEPATH%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\KHMHGZ4F\n09230945[1].asp
- <SYSTEM32>\PerfStringBackup.TMP
- %TEMP%\~ip.tmp
- %HOMEPATH%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\U98D4X8H\n09230945[1].asp
- <SYSTEM32>\wbem\Performance\WmiApRpl.ini
- %TEMP%\khntlks
