To ensure autorun and distribution:
Modifies the following registry keys:
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Explorer\Run] 'ctfmom' = '<SYSTEM32>\ctfnom.exe'
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices] 'ctfmom' = '<SYSTEM32>\ctfnom.exe'
Malicious functions:
To complicate detection of its presence in the operating system,
forces the system hide from view:
- hidden files
Creates and executes the following:
- '<SYSTEM32>\ctfnom.exe'
Executes the following:
- '<SYSTEM32>\ping.exe' -n 5 -w 250 127.0.0.1
- '<SYSTEM32>\cmd.exe' /c %TEMP%\suicide.bat
Modifies file system :
Creates the following files:
- %TEMP%\aut2.tmp
- %TEMP%\lsukunc
- %TEMP%\suicide.bat
- %TEMP%\aut1.tmp
- %TEMP%\fprrzfx
- <SYSTEM32>\ctfnom.exe
Sets the 'hidden' attribute to the following files:
- <SYSTEM32>\ctfnom.exe
Deletes the following files:
- %TEMP%\aut2.tmp
- %TEMP%\lsukunc
- %TEMP%\aut1.tmp
- %TEMP%\fprrzfx
Deletes itself.
