To ensure autorun and distribution:
Modifies the following registry keys:
- [<HKCU>\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'winlogon' = '%APPDATA%\svchost.exe'
Creates the following files on removable media:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\autorun.inf
- <Drive name for removable media>:\PictureViewer.exe
Malicious functions:
Creates and executes the following:
- '%APPDATA%\svchost.exe'
Executes the following:
- '<SYSTEM32>\ping.exe' localhost -n 5
- '<SYSTEM32>\cmd.exe' /c %TEMP%\WinDir.bat
Modifies file system :
Creates the following files:
- %TEMP%\WinDir.bat
- %APPDATA%\svchost.exe
Sets the 'hidden' attribute to the following files:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\PictureViewer.exe
Deletes the following files:
- %APPDATA%\svchost.exe
Deletes itself.
Miscellaneous:
Searches for the following windows:
- ClassName: 'Indicator' WindowName: '(null)'
